Prices

Let's talk prices—welcome to the vinyl stock market! Historical median prices (usually reflecting a VG+ "Very Good Plus" condition) are easy to find on Discogs. You can also quickly filter by price in my search interface.

Keep in mind: lower prices typically reflect poorer conditions (VG or below). In contrast, top-notch conditions (Near Mint, NM) can cost significantly more—often 50–100% above the VG+ price. Future market trends on Discogs (what sellers are asking) can fluctuate, especially for rare or highly sought-after records.

A smart move: always check how many people "Have" versus "Want" a specific record. My handy Want/Have ratio will quickly show demand and rarity, helping you make savvy buying decisions.

My collection stats reveal an interesting mix: most records go for less than €10, but there’s also a solid selection of rare gems exceeding €100. Highlights include Prince’s legendary "Black Album" (original 1987 pressing), the ultra-rare "319" promo single, the sought-after "Undertaker" promo CD, and Madonna’s stunning original UK "Erotica" picture disc, to name a few.

But remember: plenty of cheap records sound amazing. Don't overlook them—you might uncover incredible music without breaking the bank!
